How it works
From landing to your first lease.
Staywala connects people arriving in a new country with local hosts who have a room free, often hosts who speak your language and made the same move. Here’s how it works on both sides.
Five steps, start to finish
Tell us your dates
Pick a city, your arrival and departure, a nightly budget, the room types you’d take and the languages you’d like your host to speak.
We match you
You see rooms that fit, ranked by price, language and how well the host is rated. Every card shows the host, the languages they speak and how far you’d be from the tram.
Confirm the room
Look through the full gallery, house rules and the host’s reviews, check the booking summary, then send your request.
Get your confirmation
Once the host accepts, you get the address, directions from the airport or station, check-in time, your host’s contact details and the booking terms in writing.
Unlock your arrival guide
Your booking opens a guide to the neighbourhood and a checklist for the Anmeldung, a bank account and the Deutschlandticket.
